A Little About us.
The Chepstow and District Amateur Radio Society are affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain. Our club call sign which has been linked to Chepstow for many years is GW4LWZ. Our membership includes people of all ages with a variety of interests in radio.
We can also run courses and examinations for all levels of amateur licence. Over the last year we have had a great deal of success in assisting people with their Foundation and Intermediate licences.
CADARS meet informally from 7:30pm on the first and the third Tuesday of every month. A range of activities are carried out at club meetings including pur "Play Radio Night" where members can bring their own equipment. This offers the chance for members to relax, and also enjoy building and modifying their own equipment. Many different projects have been constructed in recent months such as; antennas, oscillators, amplifiers and one member has even built his own HF radio.
At the present time the club has no formal calendar of events, but will be carrying out some portable operating, assisting a local Scout group with JOTA, and working on various homebrew projects.
